In this series I use photography, text, and abstraction to represent the ruins of symbols and language that are left after disengagement with a “sublime object,” an ideology, or a belief system, when that “object of desire” is revealed to be merely an illusory screen of projections. I explore notions of longing and the sublime through the relationship between the interior domestic spaces, the abstract photographic landscape backgrounds, and the ideological forms which become the intermediaries or barriers between both worlds.
